Đurđa ("Đurđica") Bjedov (born April 5, 1947, Split, SR Croatia, SFR Yugoslavia) is a former Croatian female swimmer who was the only Yugoslav gold medal winner at the Olympics in swimming. At best, Bjedov came third in her heat at the European Championships, two years before her finest hour at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City. There she won the gold medal in the 100 m breaststroke and silver in the 200 m breaststroke, and set the Olympic record in the 100 m breaststroke with the time of 1:15.8.〔(Durđa Bjedov ) 〕 At the end of the year, she was proclaimed as the athlete of the year in Yugoslavia. After her swimming career Bjedov turned to coaching. Her daughter Anamarija Petričević, also a swimmer, competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics.
